Our BIG Why
The Issues
Fresh food is crucial for the health of our community. Food is connection, nourishment, and memory. And right now, so many Tulsans do not have the access to the food that they deserve.
With 45% of Tulsa living with low access to fresh foods, and a critical 17% of Tulsa's population living in food deserts, fresh food scarcity is a public health problem.
In a food desert, access to quality food is non-existent. Residents must travel several miles to reach a grocery store that carries staple items like fresh produce.
Our Vision
A world where all people have equitable access to nutritious food.
Our Mission
To enhance the nutritional and economic health of Oklahoman’s by overcoming barriers to healthy food access.
